It is impressive how many bands and solo artists there are in the Basel music scene, how wide the stylistic range is, and the energy and quality with which the newcomers on the scene are on the move. This is also true of the bands on this evening
Finn Today has been attracting attention with dreamy synth sounds and catchy melodies between pop, R&B, and electronic music for around three years. In 2022, the singer and guitarist won the Soundclinic of the Musikbüro Basel, and his previously released songs made it into various Spotify playlists. His current single "Responsibility" shows how modern pop music from Switzerland can sound. This fall, Finn Today will release his debut EP. Until then, you can look forward to seeing him live in the MUKS-Hof. Normally he is on stage with his computer; drummer Dominik Leuppi provides an extra portion of groove on the Kulturtreppe.
The second band of the evening has plenty of groove! Since 2018, the six guys from “Los Tros Flamingos” have been making sure everyone dances hard and has happy faces with their funky licks, disco grooves, German lyrics, and an energetic stage show. Trombone, trumpet, synths, guitar, bass and drums are just as much part of their range of instruments as their extravagant stage outfits. In recent years, the Flamingos have toured Spain, France, Italy, and Germany with busking concerts. You can experience them on this summer evening in the courtyard of the MUKS.
The Markthalle Mobil will take care of the refreshments and the concert will be moved indoors in the museum in the event of bad weather.
Entrance is free but there will be a collection.
