“Funky Lady” — Stephanie Lottermoser Group

Atlantis Basel
Friday, 19 April

Jazz is an allegory for life. And for both, gaining independence is a long process. That is the narrative of “In-Dependence,” Stephanie Lottermoser's new album that is about striving for independence in all facets of life. Musically, Lottermoser has consistently taken her freedom from the very beginning and has long since found an independent and recognizable language. Stylistically, she remains true to herself with her grooving synthesis of jazz, soul, funk, and pop, developing herself and her sound in the best sense of the word. The result are clear compositional lines, catchy melodies, emotional appeal, and subtle virtuosity, far removed from academic sobriety and technical affinity. “In-Dependence” is Lottermoser's most personal work to date. The music stands on its own and reveals everything from fine melodies and lush grooves to extended improvisations in all their intensity. Lottermoser reveals hidden narratives, thoughts, and her personal utopias. She uses the most obvious form of expression for this—music.
Tickets are CHF29-46.30.
