After the acclaimed performance of the Polish violinist Adam Bałdych at the Jazzfest Berlin 2011, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung proclaimed him, “Undoubtedly the greatest living violinist in jazz. On his first album “Imaginary Room,” listeners could experience a jazz violinist like never before. Bałdych is a unique virtuoso of his instrument in jazz. However, he puts his virtuosity entirely at the service of the music—with a cultivated tone, a strong sense of sound and space, and a talent for haunting melodies. On this evening, the Baldych Quartet presents their latest CD, "Poetry" live.
Nguyên Lê's music is constantly changing. The French guitarist with Vietnamese roots combines jazz with world music influences in a unique way. The last two albums continued this tradition, but unlike in previous, more "world"-heavy projects, this time with a stronger jazz orientation, inspired by Indian and North African rhythms; Vietnamese melodies; oriental-melodic accents; and unheard, imaginary folklore. The Nguyên Lê Trio presents their latest CD on this evening.
Tickets are CHF 50.40-71.80 for seats and CHF 37.20 for standing room.
