Baselland Tourismus offers various e-bike tours this summer to explore the Basel area, led by certified local guides, who turn the trip together into an experience. The guided tours impress with eventful detours, unforgettable views, lots of insider knowledge, and tips on technology. Several stops lure you along the way, including a cozy stop for coffee and croissant, a typical Baselbieter lunch (choice of meat or vegi menu) in an illustrious group, as well as a snack in the countryside.
On this day, you can join a guided circular tour in good company and immerse yourself in history. Along the way, you can discover numerous highlights, such as the Mariastein monastery, Pfeffingen ruins, and Arlesheim Cathedral, as well as the diverse cuisine and culture in the Arlesheim/Pfeffingen region. After starting in Arlesheim, the tour leads to the Mariastein monastery, which is one of the most beautiful monastery complexes in Switzerland. After a coffee stop with croissants, you can visit the Gnadenkapelle (Chapel of Grace). The route continues through the forest to the idyllic vineyards of the Aescher Klus, where you will enjoy regional specialties at lunch. The next highlight is a visit to the Pfeffingen ruins, which tower high above Pfeffingen and Aesch. Christoph Reding from Baselland Archeology, will let you immerse yourself in the exciting history of this castle ruin. The tour takes you leisurely back to Arlesheim, where you can visit the cathedral.
This tour starts and ends at Domplatz in Arlesheim. It it is classified as easy for difficulty and intermediate for condition, leading mainly over asphalt and wide natural roads with a distance of 36 km and around 600 m change in altitude. The group size will be 9-12 people. The tours are suitable for e-bikes with a pedal assistance of 25 km/h (since the route partly leads over forest roads, e-bikes with a pedal assistance of 40 km/h are not permitted). Please dress for the weather and wear a helmet (mandatory)!
The cost of this tour is CHF 119, which includes the trained tour guide and lunch of regional specialties with dessert (excluding drinks).
