Guided E-Bike Tours with Celebrities

Pratteln Train Station
Saturday, 20 August

The enchanting landscape of the region is best discovered by e-bikeā€”for example, on varied themed tours through Northwestern Switzerland organized by Baselland Tourismus. New this year, they are offering the special experience of themed e-bike tours with trained e-bike guides and a prominent guest. Cycling fun; culinary, scenic, and cultural highlights; as well as interesting conversations with exciting personalities are guaranteed.
On this Saturday, Swiss wrestling "king" Matthias Glarner is visiting the Basel area. The 36-km tour (approximately 450 meters in altitude) will start at the Pratteln train station at 10:00 (meeting point). From there, the tour leads first to the Roman town of Augusta Raurica. Immerse yourself in the world of antiquity, where over 15,000 Romans once lived. As you continue your journey through the picturesque hilly landscape, a pleasurable stop for pleasure waits you on a viewing terrace. Enjoy a dessert in the charming little town of Liestal. In preparation for the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF), which takes place a week later, the tour ends in Pratteln, including a guided tour of the ESAF site.
You will need to bring your own e-bike and make sure that the battery is sufficiently charged for the tour of around 36 km/450 meters in altitude. In Liestal at the Mooi restaurant (dessert stop), there is a charging station for a maximum of 5 e-bikes. The most common charging cables are available on site (otherwise please bring your own charger). The tours are suitable for e-bikes with a motor-assisted speed of up to 25 km/h (since the route partly leads over forest roads, fast e-bikes with a motor-assisted speed of up to 40 km/h are not permitted).
The cost of this tour is CHF 89, which includes the trained tour guide, the prominent escort by celebrity Matthias Glarner, and lunch of regional specialties with desert (drinks and morning coffee break extra).
