Veteran saxophonist Houston Person has always kept Gene Ammons' soulful, rich tenor tradition alive, especially in the interplay with organists. Since recording his first album "Underground Soul" (Prestige Records, 1966) as a leader, Houston has released nearly 100 albums. He is accompanied by pianist Claus Raible who is full of ingenuity, energy and swing. Bassist Giorgos Antoniou and drummer Xaver Hellmeier complete the quartet, which is unrivaled in Europe in terms of its consistency and stylistic confidence. They are among the most sought-after sidemen in Europe, having played with numerous international jazz legends.
