Violetta is alone in the world. Nicole Chevalier is alone on stage. The voices of the ensemble sound ghostly from the dark auditorium. Benedikt von Peter has staged a radically condensed study of loneliness, as contemporary as it is timeless. In the title role of Verdi's melodrama, the American star soprano Chevalier has been thrilling audiences for years with her moving solo performance. This cult production by Benedikt von Peter and Chevalier will be performed in Italian with German and English surtitles.
In collaboration with I Love the Arts, Basel's initiative for English-language events in several cultural institutions, you are invited on this evening to join von Peter and Chevalier for a chat and a drink after the performance.
Tickets are CHF 30-145 for adults and CHF 20 for youths and students.
