Basel this year has been awarded the title of “GenussStadt der Schweiz” (Swiss City of Indulgence). Therefore, numerous special food- and drink-related events and activities take place in the city on the Rhein from April to October that encourage enjoyment of good food and invite you to discover the variety of delights in Basel with a focus on regionality, seasonality, and handicrafts.
As part of these activities, you can join a culinary discovery hike, walking a few kilometers while fortifying yourself with special, regional delicacies (organic / Slow Food Presidi) at several stations, including a variety of drinks such as regional wines, beer from small breweries, and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a closing drink with Basler Gin. On this guided hike you will also get to know the exciting history of Basel-Stadt's cuisine while enjoying beautiful views of the city and walking comfortably via Chrischona back to Riehener Wein.
