Infinity Festival — baROCK with Amaconsort

The Basel Infinity Festival will take place for the fourth time this spring. This young festival has already firmly established itself in Basel's music and cultural landscape and is far more than "just" a classical music festival—it deliberately explores the boundaries of classical music and creates an incomparable atmosphere with original, cross-disciplinary concerts. In addition to top-class national and international artists, the Basel Infinity Festival also offers young musicians the opportunity to present themselves to the public. The unique combination of classical music with literature, ethnic folk music, and dance reaches a broad audience.
On this evening, the audience will experience “Round Thy Coast—Musical Goings-on in 17th Century England.” Lively and out of the moment, the four young musicians of Amaconsort play the multifaceted repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries. They study historical sources with a passion, on which they base their fascinating interpretations. In doing so, the diverse instrumentation possibilities of Amaconsort allow the audience to experience a wide variety of sound colors and inspire the ensemble to constantly make new sonic discoveries. In the summer of 2021, Amaconsort won first prize at the renowned early music competition "Van Wassenaer Concours" in Utrecht. In addition, the ensemble was awarded the special prize of BR Klassik at the "German Music Competition" and received the "Fringe Audience Award" of the festival "Oude Muziek Utrecht." The four musicians are internationally active and are students/alumni of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
Tickets are CHF 25 for adults and CHF 15 for people under age 28.
