Infinity Festival — Gala Infinity

The Basel Infinity Festival will take place for the fourth time this spring. This young festival has already firmly established itself in Basel's music and cultural landscape and is far more than "just" a classical music festival—it deliberately explores the boundaries of classical music and creates an incomparable atmosphere with original, cross-disciplinary concerts. In addition to top-class national and international artists, the Basel Infinity Festival also offers young musicians the opportunity to present themselves to the public. The unique combination of classical music with literature, ethnic folk music, and dance reaches a broad audience.
Pulsating rhythms and passionate harmonies—the stirring Concerto for Violin, Piano, and String Quartet by the French Romantic composer Ernest Chausson moves the audience with its highly expressive and at the same time floating sound language. Star violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky, professor of violin at the Zürich University of the Arts, leads expressively and virtuously through the solo part. In the second part of the evening, the great Piano Quintet by Dmitri Shostakovich captivates with its grandiose sound scape and raw expressiveness. Professor and master pianist Eldar Nebolsin, a student of the great Dmitri Bashkirov, knows how to unleash the great power and intensity of this music.
Tickets are CHF 20-70 for adults and CHF 10-40 for people under age 28.
