The Interfinity concert festival is a unique event that offers a fascinating mix of high-caliber international and local artists in innovative and genre-crossing concerts; over the past few years, it has become an established part of Basel’s annual musical calendar. With a lot of dedication, the organizers draw from the huge well of music and present a surprising palette of musical styles where composers, ensembles, professors, and musicians meet in the infinity of the musical universe. From Baroque, Classic, and Romanticism to contemporary music they are exploring with great curiosity the endless worlds of sound.
“Claritas. Obscuritas” is dedicated to chronobiology and daylight research. The contemporary ensemble Nikel plays the premiere of a one-hour cross-disciplinary work by well-known Austrian composer Klaus Lang and light artist Sabine Maier. The multidisciplinary performance deals with “light” and its effects on people. In collaboration with the Daylight researcher and chronobiologist Prof. em. Anna Wirz-Justice and the Center for Chronobiology in Basel, they integrate exciting scientific interludes into the performance. Science can be experienced through art and vice versa—an immersive, exciting, and innovative performance is guaranteed.
Admission is CHF 30 for adults and CHF 20 for people under age 28.
