Italo Disco (not to be confused with Italo pop or Italo rock etc.) is a style within electronic dance music whose producers, composers, and often also performers come from Italy. The 1980s are considered the heyday of Italo Disco. The name "Italo Disco" was established as a style by the German label ZYX, which used the name "Italo Disco" to boost the marketing of Italian dance music in clubs.
In the future, Formel Events at Parterre One will present various theme parties (along with Planet 90s). At this first edition, the focus is on the Italo Disco genre. Mainly from the '80s, but they will also include newer songs, as this genre has experienced a resurgence, especially in recent years, with many new songs coming onto the market.
On this night, DJ.R.Ewinghietti, DJ Danilo Kenobene & Il Mandato present you the greatest Italo-Disco hits, as well as songs that probably only insiders know—no Italo pop, rock, hip hop etc. (They will not be playing anything by Eros, Toto Cutugno, Umberto Tozzi, etc., but rather their own musical genre, Italo Disco.) Music videos or TV appearances of the songs played will accompany the music, if available.
