Finely tuned acoustic songs, funky riffs, and soul melodies with goose bumps are the trademarks of London singer, guitarist, and pianist Izo FitzRoy. Carried by the groove of her band and the harmonies of her three background singers, she creates her very own sound—greetings from Atlantic, Motown, and Stax. Just as strong as FitzRoy's music are the messages in her lyrics. The track "God Gets a Little Busy Sometimes" from her new album "A Good Woman," for example, deals with the feeling of not feeling safe as a woman, but also with the search for support and the realization that strength is sometimes simply found within oneself. These deeply personal messages in her songs go straight to the heart; the sound they're packaged in goes straight to the legs.
Tickets are € 38 for adults and € 30.40 for students up to age 26.
