Jamaram, the eight-member reggae band, has played thousands of live shows since their founding at the turn of the millennium. Join them live and direct to fight against the demise of clubs and festivals, against courtship on mobile phones, and against couch potatoes with drugs and booze and Netflix. The band stands for peace, cosmopolitanism, and respect, and against war, intolerance, and isolation. Without borders and walls they present colorful diversity and joy of life, in real life as well as in music. You can hear this on their current release "Morning." The nine tracks available on vinyl were created together with long-time homie and reggae veteran Jahcoustix and address loneliness through social media, propaganda and shouting, with simultaneously greatly abbreviated but highly emotionalized discourses, leaving the beaten track and changing perspectives, that it is always worth fighting for something you stand behind. The message remains positive; in the end it is about treating the planet and each other well as people, in small and large ways.
The traveling circus of reggae & rock 'n' roll, which has been touring the stages of Europe, Africa, and South America for 23 years, rides the genre rollercoaster without ever becoming arbitrary. The stunning live show, as usual, offers bass-heavy modern roots, dubwise, afrobeat, hip hop, and urban grooves. For the brain and to relax, there are also the odd heartbreaking ballad and intelligent songwriter storytelling.
Tickets are CHF 35 in advance or CHF 40 at the door; CHF 5 discount for students.
