Improvisation—that is, performing something without preparation, extemporaneously—was an indisputable trademark of the great masters until the time of Johannes Brahms. Today this discipline has almost been forgotten. With “The Big B's,” the Janoska Ensemble presents the music of composers who mastered this discipline—Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, all of who are considered “patron saints” and role models of the Janoska Ensemble.
