This trio plays impressive jazz full of a plain elegance that captures the essence of jazz traditions. Their interpretations of songs by Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, and Thelonious Monk as well as of other timeless standards are not only musical master pieces but also emotional experiences that draw in their audiences. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that although this formation completely forgoes a harmony instrument, their richness of sound and expressiveness still leave nothing to be desired. Alex Hendriksen’s virtuosic saxophone play, combined with Fabian Gisler’s powerful bass and Paul Amereller’s imaginative percussions, create a fascinating sound landscape that is honest, pure, and radical. Amereller's surprising inputs and creative freedom ideally complement Hendriksen and Gisler’s long-time collaboration.
