The Kruger Brothers, stars of the Americana bluegrass scene, have assemble a world-class program together with the Kontras Quartet from Chicago. In the remote and densely forested mountains of North Carolina, moonshine is and has always been illegally distilled by moonlight. Jens Kruger composed the “Moonshine Sonata” as part of a composition commission on the subject of moonshine. The Kruger Brothers premiered this work together with the Kontras Quartet in North Carolina last fall and celebrated it with overwhelming success and multiple ovations.
This fantastic project—Americana, bluegrass, and classic in an explosive, highly musical mixture—is now coming to Basel. This is a unique musical firework display to experience.
