For four evenings, the “Kulturtreppe” (culture stairs) will present top-class music from the region for the eighth time. The four concert evenings span a range of genres, from jazz to ska to electro-pop, creating a holiday atmosphere in the cozy courtyard of the MUKS – Museum Kultur & Spiel Riehen. On the final day, football also makes its way to the museum courtyard with a broadcast of the European Championship match between Switzerland and Iceland.
The final evening of the Kulturtreppe belongs to LN Acustica, aka La Nefera. The Basel-based rapper, singer, producer, and networker with Dominican roots has established herself in recent years as an independent and strong voice and an ambitious and dedicated artist on the Swiss music scene with her fiery hip-hop, socially critical rap in Spanish, and Latin American influences. Her pseudonym, inspired by Queen Nefertiti, symbolizes power and energy—attributes that she passionately brings to her music. It's not just her rap and dance skills, her boundless energy, the quality of her live band, and the special aesthetic of her productions that captivate audiences, but also the fact that her so-called "empowerment rap" is rooted in a strong sense of social commitment. This passion is understandable even if you don't speak Spanish. She is currently touring in an acoustic setup, with percussion, guitar, bass, and polyphonic vocals. This intimate, rhythmically diverse setting lends her songs even more depth and freedom, beyond electronic productions.
The women's power will continue after the concert, starting at 21:00, with a broadcast of the Swiss women’s soccer national team's match against Iceland in the Women's Euro 2025.
The Basel Markthalle and the Pötit Cräperie will provide refreshments with drinks and sweet and savory snacks; doors open at 18:00.
Entrance is free but there will be a collection.
