Sion Segre Amar (1910-2003) assembled one of the finest and largest collections of medieval illuminated manuscripts of recent times. Christopher de Hamel, formerly of Sotheby's, knew him well, and will speak about the collector himself and how these remarkable manuscripts were found and acquired and why they matter. The lecture will be in English.
