Lee Ritenour, born in Los Angeles, has ideally embodied the carefree sound of the West Coast for years. He played with the smooth jazz formation Fourplay from 1991 to 1998, released more than 40 records, and had 17 Grammy nominations. In addition to his own projects, he has been a session musician for musicians such as Al Jarreau, Barbra Streisand, Herbie Hancock, and Pink Floyd. Ritenour is one of the few guitarists whose sound is unmistakable.
In his amazing career, which has spanned five decades, Ritenour has developed a keen understanding of how to strike the right balance between a frontman and his rhythm section, as well as between seasoned veterans and enthusiastic up-and-coming musicians. The star guitarist comes to Basel for the first time with the legend on the keys, Dave Grusin!
