Manu Hartmann is already a force to be reckoned with in the Swiss music scene. She has been on stage with blues legends like Jimmy Johnson (USA), Louisiana Red (USA,) and guitarist Cla Nett (CH), who unfortunately passed away much too early. In the 2000s, she was a regular with the Swiss combo Chicago Dave Blues Band and in 2005 founded her own blues formation, Manu Hartmann Band, with whom she repeatedly received appreciative reviews in the media for her energetic stage performances.
In 2018, the charismatic singer won the Swiss Blues Challenge with her band. Six months later, they became the first large Swiss formation to reach the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (USA), and in 2020, Hartmann was nominated for the Swiss Blues Award.
The headstrong musician is known for realizing her ideas of contemporary blues and not being afraid to touch other styles. Soul, funk, and pop elements are an important part of Hartmann's self-proclaimed "Modern Blues." This can be heard even more clearly on her upcoming album, "There’s Something Wrong.” The 11 songs, eight of which are self-penned, testify to a versatile artist who uncompromisingly gives free rein to her creativity and intimate love of music.
Tickets are CHF 30 in advance and CHF 35 at the door.
