Marius Baer Trio
30-year-old musician Marius Bear from Appenzell combines what at first glance seems incompatible—self-confident strength, vulnerability, and the courage to reveal even his weaknesses. The trademark of his songs is that they are always carried by his instantly recognizable power voice.
In 2019 he launched his first LP “Not Loud Enough” and won the Swiss Music Award in the “Best Talent” category. In 2020, Bear caused a stir with his appearance on the RTL TV show “I Can See Your Voice.” His powerful cover version of Whitney Houston's “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” left the audience on their feet. His second album “Boys Do Cry” was released in March 2022 and reached the top 5 of the Swiss LP charts.
Bear is a romantic somewhere between brotherly buddy and passionate lover, whose songs sometimes tenderly embrace his listeners, sometimes move forward in an energetic rock style, and sometimes invite them to dance with a wink. With “Boys Do Cry” he represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and made it to the final. He now has hundreds of thousands of listeners and a total of over 22 million audio streams on Spotify and Apple Music. His third album will be released in spring 2024. Meanwhile, you can listen to his music at the Parterre One in Basel.
Tickets are CHF 47 in advance and CHF 50 at the door.
