Since 1995, the pianist Robert Kolinsky and his team endeavor to bring renowned artists to Basel for an annual classical music festival to popularize the works of Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů. The festival, which is regarded by the media as “the smallest but finest of its kind,” this year includes five concerts.
On this evening, a 50-minute feature film (Czech/German) will be presented entitled “My Life With Bohuslav Martinů.” This production by Austrian television ORF and Czech television ČT from 2021 tells the life of the famous Czech composer. The showing will be followed by a conversation with the director Jakub Sommer.
