Martinů Festival — Family Football Concert “Half-Time”

Museum Tinguely
Saturday, 16 November
18:15-19:05

Since 1995, the pianist Robert Kolinsky together with his team endeavors to bring renowned artists to Basel for an annual classical music festival to popularize the works of Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů. The festival, which is regarded by the media as “the smallest but finest of its kind,” this year will run from November 10-24 and will include four concerts and one film.
Music and sport are an inspiring combination. Did you know that Bohuslav Martinů composed a brilliant orchestral football firework, “Half-Time,” 100 years ago? Or that Arthur Honegger set his favorite sporting discipline to music in his successful piece “Rugby”? There's a lot to discover! Legendary sports reporter Beni Thurnheer will host the evening with the sporting pieces of music, which will also involve the young audience. Surprise guests provide additional highlights. Let's play! This family concert is ideal for families with kids ages 5 and up.
Tickets are CHF 15 for adults and CHF 5 for kids.
