Metal Masters — Judas Priest, Saxon, und Uriah Heep

St. Jakobshalle
Wednesday, 03 April
18:30

Buckle up, because on this evening, the St. Jakobshalle Basel will be transformed into a heavy metal Olympus with Judas Priest, Saxon, and Uriah Heep.
Judas Priest are the hardest workers in the heavy metal scene. They could have long since retired, but they are still on stage and have shaped classic heavy metal like no other band. The band around frontman Rob Halford is one of the pioneers who cut the blues roots of hard rock and created genuine heavy metal from them. As early as the 1970s, Judas Priest took over parts of the motorcycle and leather fetish and thereby played a decisive role in defining the appearance of a musical subculture. Classics like “Breaking the Law,” “Turbo Lover,” and “Living After Midnight” are probably familiar to every heavy metal fan and are an integral part of any heavy metal playlist.
The cult band Saxon, which has existed since 1976, will also be present. The band, along with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Diamond Head, is one of the co-founders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and, led by frontman Peter “Biff” Byford, is still in top form after almost 50 years of band history.
Also on board is probably one of the most influential bands in hard rock history—Uriah Heep. They have been touring the globe for over five decades and still seem to be in the fullest playing mood after their fantastic performance at the Hallenstadion as a special guest for Krokus. With 25 studio albums, 13 live albums, and over 2.5 million records sold, Uriah Heep is one of the Big Four of hard rock alongside Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath.
Look forward to an evening packed with heavy metal energy starting with Uriah Heep at 18:30, Saxo at 19:45, and Judas Priest at 21:05; doors open at 17:00.
Tickets are CHF 97.50 for seats and CHF 87.50 for standing room.
