The Pantheon Basel is a forum/museum for Oldtimer cars. It houses hundreds of classic, vintage, and old cars for private owners in the region. For this reason, the collection is ever changing and so there is always something new for visitors to the museum.
In addition to two special exhibitions on the Lotus lightweight racing and sports cars, and the Jaguar racing cars (the pre-war racing car SS100, the C Type, the E Type semi light up to the Formula 1 racing car from 2000), they will be hosting a special exhibit on the two British car manufacturers, Mini and Healey.
Donald Mitchell Healey (1898-1988) was a British race car driver and car designer. In 1931, he won the Rallye Monte Carlo in an Invicta car. He also gained a good reputation as an engineer and designer and in 1931 became director of the Triumph Motor Company. During World War II, Healey was involved in the development of airplane engines and worked for the car manufacturer Humber on armored cars. In 1945, he founded the Donald Healey Motor Company, which developed Austin-Healey and Austin-Healey-Sprite vehicles under a license agreement with the British Motor Corporation. After the corporation was acquired by British Leyland in 1966, he moved to Jensen Motors and in a joint venture developed the Jensen-Healey.
