As a part of the European Mobility Week, the canton of Basel-Stadt will be hosting another edition of Mobility Week—this year, as a shorter 3-day event, centrally located at Barfüsserplatz. More than 20 free campaigns and city tours make the diversity of mobility tangible and combine sustainability with lifestyle, innovation, health, culture, safety, and much more. The project aims to introduce you to environmentally friendly ways to get around Basel and the three-countries region by foot, bicycle, solar boat, tram, or electric car.
Is sustainability important to you? At the mobility week you will find campaigns on sharing, repairing, taking a ride instead of driving yourself, as well as sustainable delivery options. For example, you can repair your bike at the bike check in the spirit of a circular economy or learn more MOBILISK and other sharing offers.
You can also find out what tomorrow's mobility my look like and what the latest trends are or how old and new can be combined in an exciting way. You will discover innovations and future visions. For example, who makes electrified mobility possible in Basel and how you can practice safe behavior thanks to virtual reality.
Safety is just as much a part of sustainable mobility as climate protection. Improve your perception and experience barriers first-hand on the wheelchair course or the city tour with a change of perspective. Test your skills on the speedy e-scooter course and get an exclusive insight into the emerging city on the construction site city tour.
If getting ahead playfully is more your thing, practice tricks and jumps or beat couriers in the Cargovelo challenge. If you are looking for more deceleration, be as slow as possible in the SlowRace or promote your body awareness on the Kneipp course.
All activities of the Mobilitätswoche are free of charge and can be visited spontaneously. You can register for the free city tours online or directly at the festival site.
There will also be fine food from all over the world, and the energy self-sufficient solar stage will create an additional atmosphere with a varied musical program. Whether with family, friends, or just to meet like-minded people, come by and become part of the movement!
