Museumsnacht Basel 2025 (Basel Museums Night)
For eight straight hours, you can go on a nocturnal expedition and discover 41 museums and other cultural institutions during the Basel Museums Night. The participating institutions have planned around 200 thrilling events for young and old, including numerous events especially for families. You can enjoy exciting discoveries, delectable moments, and interesting and unusual encounters around the various exhibits and collections. For English-speaking guests, the program includes special tours in English at various institutions. Many other events also don’t require knowledge of the German language (eg, concerts). The full program, which will be published by January, will be available on their website. Activities for children and families, as well as foreign-language and language-independent events, will be marked with special icons.
Your Museums Night ticket entitles you to free travel by bus, tram, and train in the TriRegio network from 17:00 until late at night. For those who live in Alsace, the Distribus (line 604) will depart from Schifflände to Saint-Louis (serving all stops up to and including: Professeur Coste) at 01:00 and 01:30. There will also be late trains back to southern Baden from Badisher Bahnhof at 01:29 to Waldshut. There will also be several dedicated shuttle bus lines all starting at Münsterplatz that connect different museums and run from 18:00-02:00. New this year, Oldtimer-Trams now run starting at 18:00. between MParc (Tram Museum), SBB station, Wettstein Brücke, and Messeplatz. For more information, check their website.
For people with special needs, three vehicles with wheelchair access are available at Münsterplatz from 18:00–01:30 for transport between the museums (sorry, no home transport service). To book a ride during Museums Night, call +41-(0)79-424-3077.
