Musical Wellness — Franziska Fleischanderl
La Cetra Barockorchester & Vokalensemble Basel is presenting a series of intimate concerts entitled "Musical Wellness." The approximately 40-minute sessions are private concerts in a small, baroque-style room at their MusicArte studio. This series is also ideal for families with children to be able to experience live music up close.
This concert presents Franziska Fleischanderl performing on the salterio, or zither. Fleischanderl heard the sound of a salterio for the first time at age 4 and immediately fell in love with its clear, ethereal sound. For many years, she has concentrated on researching her instrument in the areas of early and contemporary music. The chance purchase of an exceptionally beautiful original salterio built by Michele Barbi in Rome in 1725 was a major turning point in her artistic life. Since then, she has devoted herself to the field of early music, focusing on the rediscovery and re-performing of the original 18th century salterio music, which she is the first to perform equally in all three playing techniques—battuto, pizzicato with fingers, and pizzicato with plectra. On this afternoon, she will be playing works by several composers, enchanting the audience with the touching sound of a bygone era.
Tickets are CHF 50 for adults, CHF 25 for youths ages 15-18, and CHF 5 for kids up to age 14.
