Nachtklang — Weather Report
The weather and seasons reflect or even influence our moods. Wet, damp, dry, cold, warm, hot... Poetry and music often use meteorological metaphors when it comes to making inner states tangible. Of course, this can happen in very different ways according to the respective climate zone. In their musical soirée, the four musicians of the Basel Chamber Orchestra examine the human relationship between the inside and the outside. Will climate change this relationship? The repertoire ranges from Spanish and Italian madrigals from the 16th century to Baroque instrumental music by Haydn and Rossini to songs from the 20th and 21st centuries.
In the Kammerorchester Basel’s Nachtklang concert series, musicians can try new things in different constellations or rediscover old ones. Worlds collide when classical music meets popular music. Sometimes cheerful, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes poetic, sometimes solemn, the musicians present their favorite works or those that are yet to become, in the original or smaller cast. This creates something unusual and makes the audience sit up and take notice. Everything is possible—singing, readings, dance, electronics, but always with lots of music.
Tickets are CHF 20 for adults and CHF 10 for students.
