Nachtstrom 111
“Nachtstrom” is electrifying sound research that begins at sunset at the earliest and showcases a wide range of electronic music on stage—live electronics, acousmatic music, audiovisual works, improvisation, etc.
On this night, Susanne Kirchmayr (*1965), aka Electric Indigo, will be performing. She is a musician, composer and DJ from Vienna. She started DJing in 1989 and has since travelled to 45 countries as a DJ. In 1998 she founded “female:pressure,” a transnational network for female, non-binary, and transgender artists in electronic music and the visual arts, which received an Honorary Mention in the Digital Communities category at the Prix Ars Electronica in 2009. As a composer, Kirchmayr received numerous awards. Her musical work exists in the field of tension between electroacoustic music in concert performances and the dance floors of dark clubs. Occasionally, she also writes for theater and film. In 2019, Electric Indigo composed for the Klangforum Wien, and her works premiered at festivals such as Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM, and Heroines of Sound.
Anton Schleidt performs live with a sampler, synthesizer, and drum machine. His sound moves between ambient and deep house. In addition to his spherical electronic sounds, he also likes to use field recordings inspired by nature. He also likes to express his music with audio-reactive visuals and sound installations.
Furthermore, students from the Elektronisches Studio Basel will perform their latest pieces.
Tickets are CHF 5-15.
