Who hasn't heard of the legendary violin maker Antonio Stradivari? His instruments have been the cause of spectacular crime cases and are traded for astronomical sums. And rightly so? This concert offers the audience the special opportunity to hear different violins in direct comparison and to choose the instrument for the solo concert. Another timeless myth is the story of Romeo and Juliet, which Leonard Bernstein has reinterpreted in his stirring musical setting of the “West Side Story.” Violinist Daniel Dodds will be playing works including Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from “West Side Story.”
Tickets are CHF 32-85 for adults, CHF 20 for students, and free for youths.
