The orchestra of the world-famous Vienna Opera Ball, the "Ball of Balls" with an annual TV audience of 2.5 million and over 5,000 ball guests, aims to present the Viennese music of the "Golden Age" and the Vienna Opera Ball flair to a broad audience in concert.
For 23 years, Andreas Spörri, conductor of the Vienna Opera Ball from 2010 to 2020, has been conducting the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra at the successful concerts in the KKL Lucerne, which have been celebrated with standing ovations. In 2024, the debut of the "New Year's Concert" was a complete success with an enthralling evening of music in the sold-out Stadtcasino Basel.
The concert program on this evening will include exquisite works by the Strauss dynasty and by composers from Franz von Suppé to Franz Lehár, embodying a cheerful and exhilarating attitude to life. Celebrate the beginning of the new year with Vienna opera ball flair, together with Andreas Spörri and the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, singers, dancers, and an entertaining moderation (60 participants).
