Offbeat Concert is starting its season opening with a free concert outdoors at the Tinguely Museum with the first “Brass Band Battle,” where two Basel brass bands will meet for an exciting performance. The Streetbandits are a six-piece brass powerhouse from Basel that has been stirring up the scene since 2021. The young and energetic musicians combine their inspiration from the traditional New Orleans brass band sound with influences from pop and a driving techno component. In contrast, Brass Department brings fresh hip hop, funk, and pop to the stage in cheeky arrangements. In 2018, the band played at over 100 concerts at the largest brass music festivals in Europe.
This Brass Battle will precede the Offbeat season opener double concert featuring Lisette Spinnler Duo and Eva Klesse Quartet, which will take place inside the museum, starting at 19:30.
The Brass Battle performance is free and requires no ticket.
