On this weekend, the YOUNG STAGE circus festival will be once again be presenting an open air circus spectacle that will appeal to young and old alike. Breathtaking acrobatics invite you to linger and marvel at Barfüsserplatz. The event should take place in the event of light rain, but may be postponed or cancelled in the event of very bad weather.

LES P'TITS BRAS will perform Saturday at 13:00 and 16:00 and Sunday at 13:00 and 15:30. With their show “Bruits de coulisses,” you will be carried away to the heart of the Baroque era and witness a most unlikely show. Aerial acts in gold-covered dresses will blow your mind. Fantasy and schoolboy jokes intertwine and merge. You will shiver with pleasure at the sight of some minuet dancing on a tightrope in a hilarious and off-the-wall mood. In fact, you will look through a keyhole on a circus performance whose stunning technical skill cannot be hidden whatsoever. The P’tits Bras—with your help—will be preparing the staging elements of an awesome performance.

CIE. MANOAMANO CIRCO will perform Saturday at 14:15 and 17:30 and Sunday at 14:30 and 17:00. From the far South, manoAmano presents their new show “NOS03,” where movement and emotion command. Like human puppets, the characters transport you to a dreamlike world in which objects escape gravity and bodies, at height, defy it. A mysterious being is born amidst laughter and invites you to free your heads… The manoAmano company does not fly; they know they never will, but they keep trying anyhow.

CIRCUS PARCOURS FOR KIDS! From 13:00-18:00 on both days, the little ones can play the role of circus star themselves and try out a wide variety of disciplines like balancing, juggling, and diabolo. Everything will be guided by professionals! Diverse catering of drinks and treat options will make this a fabulous afternoon event for the whole family.

MOBILE CIRCUS TROUPE: The Young Stage Guerilla Circus Group will be moving through the city with live music, both surprising and amazing the people of Basel in various places with fascinating performances. You can see them at 13:00 at Steinenvorstadt, 14:00 on Freie Strasse, 15:00 at Barfüsserplatz, 16:00 in Gerbergasse, 17:00 at Kaserne, and 18:00 near the Rhein in front of Kaserne.
