Open-Air Opera — Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto”

Schloss Beuggen
Friday, 09 June

The magnificent palace complex of Beuggen Castle in Rheinfelden (Germany) offers an enchanting backdrop for a wonderful evening at the opera, with a performance traditionally staged by Opera Classica Europa under the proven direction of Michael Vaccaro.
“Rigoletto,” one of Verdi's greatest operas, is performed by international soloists to the impressive sounds of a renowned orchestra. Verdi's masterpiece features what are probably the best-known melodies of Italian opera—the Duke's famous arias "Questa o quella" or "La donna é mobile," Rigoletto's great despair aria "Cortigiani, vil razza dannata," Gilda's aria "Caro Nome," and the quartet "Bella figlia dell'amore." These are just a few of the many highlights of this opera.
