Opening Weekend of the New Kunsthaus Baselland
This April, the new Kunsthaus Baselland in Münchenstein is complete and celebrating its grand opening. Designed by Buchner Bründler Architekten, the former champagne warehouse has been transformed into a venue for contemporary art. After 25 years at its site in Muttenz, the Kunstverein Baselland has found a new home in Münchenstein, in a vibrant neighborhood of art and cultural institutions, the Academy of Art and Design, and artists’ studios, as well as manufacturing businesses and a diverse community of residents. On this opening weekend (starting at 15:00 on Saturday and 11:00 on Sunday), there will be presentations, discussions, guided and architectural tours in English, German, and French, and a host of children and youth workshops throughout both days. In addition, they are launching their first exhibition, "Rewilding," for which numerous artists from the region, Switzerland, and abroad have been invited to create new productions and works for the new building, as well as contributions for the opening celebrations to mark the start of the Kunsthaus Baselland's new era.
