On the way to his new homeland, an “emigrant” journeys through the wreckage of the 20th century. In his encounters with various collectives, he learns about the injustices of his era, about political resistance and its oppression. Luigi Nono's first work for the stage was written in 1961 as a political-ethical plea against exploitation and violence. In Benedikt von Peter's production, the audience is actively involved with the choir, thus becoming part of a collective experience. The orchestra, discreetly distributed around the stage, turns Nono's expressive score into a sound theatrical experience. This scenic action in two parts will be performed in Italian with German and English surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-105 for adults and CHF 20 for youths and students up to age 30.
