Opera—The Barber of Seville
Figaro is not only the best barber in town, but also a matchmaker, plotter of intrigues, and jack-of-all-trades. With a dose of calculated chaos and many masquerades, he manages to free Rosina from the grasp of her guardian Dr Bartolo and bring her together with the handsome Count Almaviva.
OperAvenir performs Rossini's opera as a puppet theater. In the production by director and puppeteer Nikolaus Habjan, artistic open-mouth puppets step into the limelight. The puppets develop a deep human psyche and become equally matched partners of the singers. The production celebrates the 15th anniversary of the opera studio and will be performed in Italian with English and German surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-110 for adults and CHF 20 for people under age 30.
