Organ Festival: Symphony With Organ
A celebration for the queen—Swiss organist and composer Guy Bovet has composed a new work for chamber orchestra, cello, and organ. The Kammerorchester Basel, cellist Anastasia Kobekina, and organist Simon Perguiron will shine under the direction of young star conductor Nodoka Okisawa. The program features the world premiere of Bovet’s new work, an adaptation of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 in C minor, "Organ Symphony," for which Bovet expertly rewrote several orchestral passages for solo organ. Also on the program is Edward Elgar’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in E minor.
Tickets will be available from August 15; holders of a festival ticket (CHF 155 for 6 concerts, except this one) receive a 20% discount on the regular ticket price.
