Philipp Fankhauser's new album “Ain't That Something” was released on March 7, 2025. The new songs are thrilling, and listening to this album is rewarding. Not that his previous albums were free of surprises, but now it's getting pretty intense! To say that it's “just” a blues album wouldn't be wrong, but it wouldn't be the whole truth either. The band seems to swing effortlessly between country, gospel, R&B, zydeco, blues, and French chanson, and always with Fankhauser's signature sound, with a healthy dose of soul, impressive authenticity, and a uniqueness that is unparalleled in this country. The album presents handcrafted, authentic music, and lyrics that inspire dreams. On the associated tour, Fankhauser is accompanied by his five regular musicians. The concerts are always a mix of new music and popular songs. Hearing and seeing the six men on stage is simply a pleasure.
