In their nine editions since 2016, the “Stars at the Rhein Piano Plus” project launched by Anastasia Voltschok and Noemi Crain Merz has helped launch the careers of young musicians and discover new performers and composers. The focus is on the piano—an instrument that has the capacity “to sum up and concentrate all of art,” to quote Franz Liszt, in combination with other instruments and in different formations, but also in interactions with other forms of art.
On this evening, the three pianists Anna Vinnitskaya, Evegeni Koroliov, and Ljupka Hadzi Georgieva will be playing various works by Johann Sebastian Bach, including Concerto for Three Pianos in D minor, BWV 1063; Piano Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056; Concerto for Two Pianos in C minor, BWV 1060; Concerto for Two Pianos in C minor, BWV 1062; Piano Concerto in G minor, BWV 1058; and Concerto for Three Pianos in C major, BWV 1064.
