For many years, the Basel-based singer/songwriter Pink Pedrazzi has been conjuring up a dazzling bouquet of music from his big black top hat with a great voice, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and magnificent songs. Highly praised by colleagues and critics alike, he performs on stage and in the studio, having shaped the Swiss music scene with bands such as The Wondergirls, The Zodiacs, The Beatnik Fly, The Moondog Show, and The Voyageurs.
In 2013, he created a musical monument with his solo debut, "A Calico Collection": 11 superb songs, heartfelt Americana roots music with a touch of John Hiatt, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty, and 100% Pink Pedrazzi. His voice is memorable and versatile, ranging confidently from a raspy timbre to the highest registers of falsetto. He plays his songs on either acoustic guitar or amplified ukulele. With his band The Big Easy, Pink Pedrazzi has brought two virtuoso musicians on board who perfectly realize his songwriting. Mike Bischof's electric guitar provides the necessary drive, rhythmically underpinned by Herbie Bach's clockwork drums. Both are also responsible for the multi-part vocals in some songs. Nothing sounds forced or strained; everything flows seamlessly.
