The Sinfonieorchester Basel and Gare du Nord invite you to a Sunday morning concert series entitled “Promenade Concerts.” With the composers Sergei Prokofiev and Claude Debussy, the Belcea Quartet brings together two of the most influential composers of the 19th and 20th centuries for a chamber-musical stroll. The Soviet composer Prokofiev’s String Quartet No. 1 in B minor, op. 50, from 1930 is juxtaposed with Debussy’s String Quartet in G minor, op. 10, from 1893, the composer’s only string quartet. Both works unite in the pursuit of different musical styles.
There is free childcare available during the concert; register at least one week in advance at vbakalakos@garedunord.ch.
Tickets are CHF 15-35, CHF 10 for holders of Colourkey, and free for kids under age 12.
