Puppet Theater — Dr Dominik Dachs und D Katzepiraate
Dominik is an old but lovable grumpy badger. One day, vagabond Otto reads the future from his paw and soon sees Dominik on a long ship voyage. Dominik has to laugh, but when Matthias, the boat builder, asks him for a favor, Dominik unexpectedly becomes the ship's captain. “Chug, chug, chug,” says the old “Seagull.” But the path is dangerous: Red Tom and his gang of cats are making the area unsafe. A hungry hedgehog as a companion certainly wouldn't hurt, and Dominik and Niki-Tiki chug through the canal almost a little too carelessly. “Dominik Dachs und die Katzenpiraten” (Dominik Badger and the Cat Pirates) is best known from the good old days of television. In 1970, the puppet show for the Swiss living rooms was produced in the then new Leutschenbach studio. Dominik Dachs became a cult and the Swiss answer to the TV successes of Germany’s Augsburger Puppenkiste. From 2024, Dominik Dachs and Niki-Tiki will experience their most dangerous adventure on the BMT puppet stage. This theater will be performed with string puppets in dialect and is ideal for families with kids ages 5 and up.
Tickets for the family program are CHF 20 for adults and CHF 15 for children and students. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve performance are CHF 75, which includes an apéro during the break. The performances on October 31 and November 1 are intended as a dinner spectacle for adults (“Dachs Dinner”) in combination with a three-course dinner for CHF 95; bookings for the dinner evenings only via info@bmtheater.ch.
