Real Bodies — Discovering the Human Body

Messe Basel
Ongoing Event
Wed., 30 August until Sun., 03 December

"Real Bodies" presents a breathtaking and one-of-a-kind exhibition that displays numerous real, perfectly and respectfully preserved human bodies, as well as over 200 anatomical specimens. Suitable for visitors of all ages, the exhibition examines the human experience from the first to the last breath and, delving deep into the beauty of body, mind, and soul, invites visitors to discover the elegance, complexity, and mystery of the human body. "Real Bodies" explores the anatomy but also the historical, cultural, and emotional context that binds humans to their bodies.
The exhibition is divided into 10 sections—anatomical studies, breath, hunger, rhythm, movement, thought, love, beginning, death, and recovery. Each is dedicated to a particular system, such as the skeletal, muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, and digestive systems, with a look at the future of biomedicine and biomechanics.
Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 11:00-18:00 (last admission at 17:00); Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 10:00-19:00 (last admission at 18:00).
Tickets are CHF 25 for adults and CHF 15 for children on weekdays, CHF 28/CHF 18 on weekends. An audio guide (German, English, French, Italian) is included in the admission. Tickets can be purchased on site or in advance at https://www.ticketcorner.ch/en/artist/real-bodies/?affiliate=TCS.
