One family influenced the music world of the Renaissance like no other: from Venice to London, the Bassanos produced instrument makers, musicians, composers… In keeping with this, this concert is carried by the sound of the large recorder family. The consort with up to six voices will play music that was composed, recorded and creatively transformed by the Bassanos. With this homage, ReRenaissance offers for the first time a program dedicated entirely to the sound of the recorder family. The instrument is played on consort recorders, the construction of which is based on the historical models that were brought to England from Italy by the Bassanos themselves and further developed there.
ReRenaissance is a series of concerts that focuses on the music and culture of the Renaissance. These concerts celebrating "a renaissance of the renaissance" are performed by professional musicians from Basel.
The concert is free, but there will be a collection.
