ReRenaissance Basel — Transeamus: To Bethlehem!

Historisches Museum Basel - Barfüsserkirche
Sunday, 27 November
18:15

In this concert, the musicians of ReRenaissance present Spanish vocal polyphony by outstanding musical personalities of the 16th century. In this large-scale concert, a cooperation between ReRenaissance and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (SCB) allows for a unique experience: As in Francisco Guerrero's time at the Cathedral of Seville, singers and instrumentalists, complemented by the Schola Cantorum children's voices of "Oy ... cantemos!", come together in a common Capella and ring in the beginning of the Advent season. It’s Iberian musical tradition, revived in a new dress! There will be an introduction to the topic at 17:30 p.m. by Tabea Schwartz.
ReRenaissance is a series of concerts that focuses on the music and culture of the Renaissance. These concerts celebrating "a renaissance of the renaissance", are performed by professional musicians from Basel. Spaces are limited; please register in advance at hello@rerenaissance.ch.
The concert is free, but there will be a collection.
