Wasserfallen, the beautiful mountain that straddles Basel and the Swiss Plateau, is the perfect location for a group hike. The circular hike (Wasserfallen Rundweg 470) takes you along wide-open paths, through rocky terrain, and over ridgelines, offering sights that are certain to leave you breathless. The hike can be completed in either direction and the most stunning views can be observed between Passwang Antenne and Challenchöpfli. They will have lunch on the trail, so please pack a picnic lunch and plenty of water! This roughly 10 km-hike is for those with intermediate hiking skills (there are a couple of places with ridgelines on this hike) and will take roughly 5 hours to complete. Be sure to wear comfortable, weather-appropriate hiking clothes and sturdy hiking boots.
Meeting place is at Basel SBB under the timetable. They will be taking a gondola up the mountain, so have your travel cards and money. The hike will be confirmed a couple of days before September 7; if the weather is rainy, the hike will be cancelled.
