Sari Schorr’s success did not come overnight, but after years of walking the rough path of a hard-working blues woman's life—from her humble beginnings in the music scenes of New York's legendary South Bronx and Manhattan's Lower East Side, to live performances at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall and on television shows such as “Late Night With Conan O'Brian.” Schorr has been described by many music connoisseurs as a modern-day cross between Janis Joplin and Tina Turner—a heartfelt rock singer who exudes emotional intensity, connecting with and inspiring her audience to leave a lasting impression that is almost larger than life. In a review of her latest album, a respected music critic wrote: "It's easy to run out of superlatives to describe one of the best female voices out there."
Schorr first became known in the blues world through her performances with blues legend Joe Louis Walker and the famous guitarist Popa Chubby, with whom she toured the United States and Europe for several years. Through a chance meeting with legendary record producer Mike Vernon (Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Peter Green) in Memphis in January 2015, Schorr’s career took on a new, exciting direction. Within five minutes of hearing her sing, Vernon offered to produce her debut album.
To date, Schorr has produced two studio albums—the 2016 debut album "A Force of Nature" and "Never Say Never," released in 2018. Both albums were praised by the press for Schorr’s energetic vocals and emotionally charged performances. Over the last four years, she has formed her own band, toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and released her latest album "Live In Europe" in 2020.
Tickets are CHF 35 in advance and CHF 40.
